Edward Patrick Marshall

Edward Patrick Marshall grew up outside of Washington D.C. with his father Thurgood Marshall Jr. and his mother Colleen Mahoney. Having grown up with two lawyer parents, Edward obviously decided to become a musician. He graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in music education to become a freelance guitarist and private lesson instructor in and around New York City. Five years into his music career, live entertainment shut down across the globe in 2020. Edward spent his quarantine cooking and learning to code so that he would be able to create an app to teach his students an advanced guitar technique. Once he finished the app however, he realized he had fallen deeply in love with software engineering and its ability to increase accessibility to education for students from all backgrounds. Thus, he acquired a job as a software engineer at an educational technology startup. He now lives in North Carolina with his dog, cat, surfboard, a remote job, and a handful of remote students. He continues every day to strive to increase educational accessibility through his work as an engineer and as an educator.
